The Liberal Democrat party has always stood for the production of innovative policies, many of which go on to be picked up by others, and its manifesto contains a mix of some new ideas with some long-held policy positions.
Undoubtedly some of the party’s policies would benefit English businesses. However, in order to do so, the Liberal Democrats have to continue to work together with the Conservative Party in coalition and furthermore, strengthen those links.
Given the strains that have been put on the Liberal Democrats as a result of the party’s coalition deal at Westminster, it means that resources such as the Centre for Reform have even more work to do.
